Crockett Family Fund for Excellence

Recipient must be a deserving student in the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice who is a graduate of Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, FL. Should a graduate from Blanche Ely High School not be identified, a resident of Broward, Palm Beach or Miami-Dade County, FL may also be considered.

Additional consideration will be given to a student participating in the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) program or a student who exemplifies the characteristics of the program, which includes being among the first in his or her family to attend college and who may face unique challenges because of educational or economic circumstances.

One of the purposes of this scholarship is to increase diversity at Florida State University. Any student may apply to be considered for the award; however, it is the preference of the donor that the recipient be an African American student.
