Winthrop King Summer Undergraduate Scholarship for German Studies
Recipient must be an undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA in German.
Applicants who have already finished their language requirement have completed a minimum of 6 hours in an upper-level German course (3000 level and 4000 level, of which one can be a German course taught in English through the German program – for example GET 3130, GET 3524, E-Series, and comparable courses) by the end of the fall semester when they apply. Such applicants may be enrolled in one of these courses at the time when they apply. Applicants who are enrolled in GER 2220 at the time of application must be in good standing in this course and complete it successfully by the end of the fall semester. Applicants are also enrolled (or have already completed) at least one other German course that is taught in English through the German program (for example GET 3130, GET 3524, E-Series, and comparable courses). Such applicants will also enroll in at least one or two German-taught courses at the 3000 or 4000-level during the spring semester; however, there is no requirement for enrolling in “Experiencing Germany.” The requirements above refer strictly to the Winthrop-King undergraduate scholarship.
