Recipient must be in the JD program in the College of Law and demonstrate a financial need. It is the donor’s preference that the student is participating in Summer internships or externships with the American Civil Liberties Union, Southern Poverty Law Center, Legal Aid Programs, or other similar programs, and/or the clinics of FSU College of Law’s Public Interest Law Center that help children or the elderly poor.

One of the purposes of this scholarship is to increase diversity at Florida State University. Any student may apply to be considered for the award; however, it is the preference of the donor that the recipient be Puerto Rican, Cuban, or of other Latino or Hispanic descent.
