Recipient must be a first-generation student actively engaged with the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) program and be in good academic standing. Additional preference may be given to students who are participants in varsity athletics at Florida State University.

One of the purposes of this scholarship is to increase diversity at Florida State University. Any student may apply to be considered for the award; however, it is the preference of the donor that the recipient be from a historically disadvantaged group.
