Legacy in Medicine Altruism Scholarship Endowment Fund
Recipient must be a student in the College of Medicine in their fourth year who has gone out of their way to improve the health and well being of others through volunteer activities (e.g., homeless shelters, free clinics, Habitat for Humanity, tutoring and literacy programs, fundraising for charitable organizations, etc.) This may include organizational activities or “hands-on” work for those who need it most. Preference will be given to a student who has volunteered or completed placement at a facility whose mission is to increase access to healthcare (such as volunteering at Neighborhood Health Services, community health center, the Mobile Health Unit through the Florida Department of Health, etc.) or students who have volunteered to serve on international service trips to Panama, Mexico, or other Florida State University approved locations.
